New Signing Part 6. Timoci Nagusa
Ulster appear to have secured the services of Fiji International winger Timoci Nagusa. Twenty one year old Nagusa has made a bit of a splash this year playing in all four matches and scoring two tries in this years Pacific Nations Cup.
A powerful runner with a strong step off the left, Nagusa looks an ideal replacement for the departing Tommy Bowe. Nagusa was carried off the field against Australia A in the Pacific Nations Cup in what looked like a hip injury and had to spend most of the night in the hospital. It is unclear if Nagusa will be available for the final match against Tonga tomorrow (Saturday 5th July).
Currently employed as a police constable in the province of Tailevu it is unknown if Nagusa will be continuing his training with the PSNI!
Update. 5th July 2008
Nagusa failed to recover from his hip injury and was replaced by Jerry Tuilevu as Tonga finished their IRB Pacific Nations Cup 2008 campaign on a high by defeating Fiji 27-16 at Teufaiva Stadium in Nuku’alofa on Saturday, securing their first win of the season to the delight of the watching King Taufa’ahu Tupou V of Tonga.
Could his transfer to Ulster now be in doubt?

I think you’ll find that BEEB piece was lifted from the above story through the 606 message board.
Nagusa was over training with Ulster in May and I think we’ve been talking about “a Fijian winger” from around that time. Certainly the UAFC is mentioned in this blog as far back as June 1 in relation to this.
Hope this makes the sour grapes easier to swallow :0)
