Where Do You FRU?

14 October, 2008 (18:33) | The FRU, Ulster Rugby

Little did we know that when we started this website three years ago that by this time we’d have regular readers in over 30 countries around the world.

From the map below you can see the spread across the world’s continents. While the bulk of our readers come from the UK we have regular visits from Ulster supporters in the rugby hotbeds of France, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand as well as some unusual places like Norway, Ukraine, Greece, Malaysia and Afghanistan for goodness sake!

FRU Readers USA Map

After the UK our next highest set of readers is from the USA. This is hardly that surprising following our coverage of the beautiful Lady Panthers in Milwaukee and the success of our partnership with Justin Fitzpatrick and his USA Rugby Training Camps.

What does surprise us is the spread of readers across the USA where we cover 23 States from coast to coast. Wisconsin and Illinois bring in most views but we also have regular readers in New York on the east coast , the islands of Hawaii and Hollywood (of all places) in the west. What next? FRU tee-shirts on Rodeo drive?

We’re also surprised by our readership spread over the UK. It’s no surprise that we have a huge concentration of readers in Belfast but Edinburgh is not far behind and London coming in third (though there are a lot of readers dotted round the outskirts of London). However it truly is a nationwide readership stretching from Truro in the south to Aberdeen in the north with 103 other locations in between. There really are an awful lot of Ulster fans out there!

So next time you’re in Dublin, Cookstown, Bletchley, Washington DC, Rutherglen, Bayonne, Milan, Singapore, Sydney, Chicago or Bangalore don’t panic because you aren’t that far from another Ulster supporter.

If you are one of our far flung readers we at the FRU would love to hear your story. You can contact us at editor@thefru.co.uk or leave a comment below and we’ll get in touch with you.

If you like this feature let us know in the comments section below and we’ll bring you more facts and figures about the FRU’s readers on a monthly basis.
